Once you make it, you should notice that your air bar is now 115 seconds, instead of the previous 45! Turn two quartz into glass, then use the glass and Ti to make an airtank. You should have at least two quartz and four titanium by now. Once you're back at your lifepod, make the fins if you haven't already, and they should auto-equip on your feet. You will need LOTS of quartz in the near future! Store the quartz you collect in the storage compartment in your lifepod. Look for crystalline blooms on the sand, often hidden in the weeds. If it's night, avoid the Creepvine areas. Once you get back, se the fabricator in your lifepod to turn the scrap metal into 4x Titanium. (They like scrap metal, ALOT.) So only pick up scrap metal on the way back from the Creepvine area. However, be aware that carrying scrap metal in your inventory will make the Stalkers more aggressive towards you, regardless of day/night. On the way back, look for scrap metal on the sea floor you can pick up, so as to start hoarding Titanium. If you don't have enough seedpods, swim back to the Creepvine Forest (make sure it's still daytime!) and get enough seedpods so you can make fins. If you have four seedpods left over, then build 2x rubber from seedpods, and use 2x rubber to make fins. The medkit heals 40% health, so being below 60% means I haven't wasted any of it. I use a medkit whenever I notice I'm below 60%. The machine will make another one eventually. Open it, grab the medkit, and use it if needed. ![]() There is also a medkit machine on the wall inside the lifepod. The Fabricator can turn Airsack fish into drinkable water. There should be a nutrition block (+75 food) in the storage compartment inside the Lifepod. You swim slightly faster when you don't have a tool in your hand.Īt this point, check on your health/food/water meters. When you're done, hit "F" to sheath the knife. Don't worry, you will have plenty of material to build another one by the time it wears out. Don't hit too many things - the knife has limited durability. Practice swinging the knife by clicking the Right Mouse Button. Close your inventory with Tab, then type "1" key again, and your Subnautica guy (his name is Wasabi) should unsheath the knife and hold it up. You should see the knife appear in the small blue circle at the bottom of the screen. Open your inventory (Tab), then mouse-over the knife, and type the "1" key. 2x Seedpods = Rubber, Rubber + Ti = knife.Įquip the knife in your #1 quick slot. You are certain to get at least one Titanium from breaking the rock nodules.īack at your lifepod, use the Fabricator machine on the wall to make your knife. Watch your air as you do this - you do not have much. Swim up close to them and click on them repeatedly. On the way back, break some of the rock nodules you see on the sandy floor of the shallows. Beware that the lifepod drifts around slowly, until you fix it.) ![]() (Follow the on-screen lifepod shaped beacon. Ideally you'd want six, for fins also, but the seedpods are large and fill up your inventory fast. You need to get at least two to make a knife. Go to the Creepvine Forest during the day (the long skinny Stalker fish there get more aggressive during the night) and grab as many seedpod clusters as you can. Which is quite easy by Subnautica standards. The good news is that you only need 1 Titanium and 2 Creepvine Seed Clusters to build the knife. (This theme of "building the tools to build the thing I actually want" is core Subnautica gameplay, so best start figuring it out right away!) Therefore, a knife is definitely your first priority. you're going to need to be able to get around the ocean, and harvest things that require a knife to harvest. ![]() Then you can build a small base with a big fish tank ("alien containment") to put Peepers in, and have a self-replenishing supply of food. Your first order of business is to stabilize your food supply - so you can stay alive long enough to do everything else.īasically this means you should prioritize getting the parts for a Habitat Builder tool and Solar Panels. Each step you'll be able to go into deeper/scarier biomes Keep building, explore so you can find more blueprints and food sources, more vehicles, and lots and lots of fun things that can help you. Eventually you won't need the escape pod for anything. You'll need to have scanned the solar panels for a power source Step 4 - create a habitat builder and start work on your first base. Step 3 - make a welding tool, and then fix the broken areas inside the escape pod. Get the seaglide asap and carry extra batteries on you (everything can be made from the fabricator in the escape pod) Step 2 - make a scanner and start scanning everything you can, especially the seaglide. Step 1 - make fins, knife, and an oxygen tank by gathering the appropriate items and making them in the fabricator
